The Student Services department of Daviess County Public Schools is responsible for enrollment and attendance, monthly and end of year reports, growth factor reports, state reports and attendance audits, dropout reports, non-resident contracts, home school and homebound, as well as truancy, and neglect and abuse allegations. Our office is the liaison with the court system, the court designated worker program, and the Cabinet for Social Services.
We are also responsible for behavior and discipline, the Student Discipline Code Handbook, suspensions and expulsions. Our office generates the annual school calendar.
We supervise the Student Assistance Program and the Guidance program. We utilize a total of 30 school counselors, eight (8) student assistance coordinators, and four (4) district social workers to break down barriers so that more than 11,000 students can receive the best education possible.
We consistently rank in the top 10 state school districts in attendance, and have a dropout rate of less than 1%.

MCKINNEY-VENTO PROGRAM (HOMELESS EDUCATION INFORMATION):
- We address the problems that homeless students face in enrolling, attending, and succeeding in school; and we aim to ensure that each one has equal access to the same free, appropriate public education, including preschool, as other children and youth. Homeless students should receive the educational and other services they need to meet the same challenging academic standards to which all students are held. In addition, homeless students may not be separated from the mainstream school environment. Our objectives include:
- Identifying and enrolling homeless students;
- Encouraging regular attendance and continuity in school;
- Promoting academic achievement;
- Providing transportation to school; and
- Keeping open the lines of communication.
