The Kentucky Preschool Program is available to all children determined to be eligible under state guidelines. Families may begin the process to determine eligibility at their home school or through our online application.

Four-year-old children without a disability or developmental delay must meet ALL the following criteria:

* Must be 4 years old on or before August 1 of the current school year

* Must be a resident of the Daviess County Public School District

* Must meet income eligibility guidelines (Proof of Income Required) - click here for guidelines

Three and four-year-old children may be eligible for public preschool upon the child’s third birthday if the determination has been made by the Admissions and Release Committee that the child has a developmental delay or disability and may be in need of special education services. Please wait until your child turns 3 before requesting a screening for disability.

If it is determined that your child does not qualify for the Daviess County Preschool Program, you are encouraged to consider our fee-based program. The child must turn 3 or 4 by August 1 of the current school year to be eligible. We have a limited fee-based option at most of our elementary schools with a cost of $200 monthly with a $200 deposit due with the contract. All fee-based contracts and deposits are to be completed and submitted at Central Office.
